Virtuoso QA launches Touchstone: the standard of proof for software releases

Virtuoso QA today announced the general availability of Touchstone, an agentic QA platform that establishes a new standard of proof for software releases. Touchstone reads an organisation’s own documents, proposes tests a named person approves, runs them on a deterministic engine, and records every decision as evidence.

Touchstone defines a category Virtuoso calls Release Evidence: the principle that a release should carry proof of what was tested, why, and who decided, rather than a green tick. Every requirement is traceable to the source document it came from. Every test is traceable to a requirement and approved by a named person. Every result is linked back to both, versioned and queryable.

The platform is built on the principle of governed autonomy: AI proposes, humans govern. Three orchestrator agents (The Analyst, The Architect and The Autopilot) turn specifications into structured requirements, requirements into test journeys, and journeys into running automated tests, with a human reviewing and approving at every stage. Beneath them, more than thirty specialised agents drive the workflows and a deterministic engine executes, so the AI that reasons is never the system that runs the tests.
